Sometimes you may have experienced the ‘never-say-shutdown’ situation with Windows. You wait, wait and wait but the screen just says, ‘ Windows is shutting down…’. I am not talking about the update shut down. Well now, there is an easier way to shut windows in an instant.
Caution : I recommend you to backup your registry before doing this if you are not familiar with its ways.
Open your registry editor (Start>run>regedit). You will get a dialog box like this :

Click HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/desktop in the left pane. Double click WaitToKillAppTimeout. The value here is in milliseconds. Change the Value to any time you like. For example, you can set it to 2000. But remember, diagnosing why your computer did not shut down last time will be a better idea.
