AT&T will start selling the much awaited iPhone 3G from July 11, 8 AM (United States). AT&T confirmed today that the price of the new iPhone may range from 199 US$ (8GB) to 299 US$ (16GB). Apple iPhone 3G is said to revolutinise the touchscreen market with its low price and better features.

Under this schme, the lower priced will be available only to those who have already bought an Apple iPhone before July 11 or people who are going to upgrade from their previous purchase. Buyers are also required to sign a 2 year contract.
But is it really a half the price offer? Not really for people who are going to lay their hands for the first time on an Apple iPhone. It comes for 399 US$ (8GB) and 499 US$ (16GB) under a two year contract. Without a contract, they would cost $599 for 8GB and $699 for a 16GB. The phone will come with the iPhone 2.0 software which includes a developer kit for customized apps.
AT&T will make customers activate their iPhones at the store so as to avoid the iPhone unlock or hack that embarresed them.
