Man, Google is good. Safe Search is an option that can be modified by anyone either to strict filtering or no filtering of search results at all. Google has now implemented the Lock feature which does not allow people to modify the filter option.

The user can use the Safe Search Lock option which will stop any other user from modifying it. Whats more, on every page you will be able to see some colored balls on the top right side of the page just to make sure everything is OK with the kids surfing the net.

But however there are some drawbacks. Google places a cookie in the computer system to lock Safe Search. So it works only in one operating system and the particular browser.

I could simply open an alternative browser and start browsing which obviously means that the Safe Search Lock can only be done in a single browser.

But its a start to help all those worried parents there. Google has done good. Will have to wait for the better.

Remember GDrive? Yeah, the one Google was talking about ages ago but never showed up. Well, now its ready to show its face to the world or rather its size. So whats in it for us?

Basically, GDrive will act like what I have expected an online storage service to do. It will sync with your PC and keep updated itself with all the tasks you perform. Also, all Gmail apps like Google Docs will be easily handled when in sync with the drive. Hopefully, a backup copy is automatically created of every file created. Trust me, been there and done that.

So what you ask? Well, Imagine you got your favorite music collection stuffed in your computer and right now you are at your aunt’s house petting cats, would’nt it be great if you could access your music from there? Thats where GDrive comes in. All you need is an internet connection.

About the part replacing your hard disk, I don’t really think so. I mean yes Google servers are the best but I don’t know whether they can guarantee safety and good stability. I would have a 1TB disk just in case.

Background music, Chester Bennington sings “…Just like Before”. Yep, Google will launch GDrive in 2009. Don’t know the date or the month yet.

Guess who’s in queue for a bite of the juicy multi-billion-dollar search pie? If rumours are to be believed, Apple is working on a search engine of sorts. The firm already has 6 to 7% market share in the browser space from Safari, along with a search function on both the iPhone and iPod. All that traffic and usage amounts to a load of searches, which are waiting to be monetised profitably. So, yes, there’s plenty of real estate to play around with.

The search space is already crowded with Google, Microsoft and Yahoo! But Apple, always one to break loose from the pack, is planning to bump up the searching experience by making it much more visual. Very likely the engines will still be powered by Google results, but Apple may present it in a way that suits mobile users much better.

Good news for all the Gmail users as they now will be able to add new emoticons on their email messages. The Gmail team has added a wide variety of emoticons, including some animated ones. So Gmail has become more colorful and so the users can feel free to use the emoticons.

Now another interesting fact is that these emoticons can also be used in the Gmail chat and you can add much more emoticons in emails than in IM conversations. You can use the emoticons whenever you compose the mails. But if you still wanna be away from these colorful smileys and want to stick to the old one, Google isn’t letting you down. The old one is also available as the default smiley.

Here are a few tips which will make your Blog professional so that people visit your Blog immediately and that too with a lot of pursuit and interest. Making a Blog look Professional:

1) Be consistent with your Blog and you have got to create a valuable content. People will tend to visit your website only when your content is important and of great worth. So people will appreciate the information and will view you as an expert and a professional. You’ve got to aim for ‘quality’ and providing information that is unique and interesting. So you’ve got something that no one else has; take advantage of that. You’ve got to make your blog in such a way that it encourages the visitors to visit your website very often with a lot of enthusiasm. So always make sure your content is unique and good because it will make the readers come to your blog from other blogs. Content always wins because even the most beautiful design won’t make you professional. Like they all say Content is King.

2) Now the first impression on the readers and visitors will be the look of your site and the design. Install a theme with the right color combination. You can use services like Adobe Kuler, photoshop, color schemer. Keep the site clean, simple and neat. If you have ads make it subtle. I will bring your attention once again about the content; you’ve got to write the best and unique content if you want to make more money and that means you’ve got to mean buisness.

3) You can have personalised E-mail addresses that is compatible to your domain. So you can use Google Applications which offers several products such as calendar, messenger(GTalk), email, etc. under your own domain name for absolutely free.

4) Now you can have big pictures on your page, for example, when you post something(a topic) insert a pic. which will attract the readers attention and so big pictures contribute a lot to reviews and having nice big pictures add professionalism to your review.

5) If you have a side-bar don’t over-complicate it. Everything on your site should not draw attention away from the content. Keep it clean as I said before. Even the backgrounds should not distract and the same goes for the text color. You can be professional doing “White on Black” combination or other colors(except the black on white combination) but make sure that those two colors contrast significantly and that you have changed your colors for a reason.

6) Have a proper “About and Contact” page. Write about the site, about yourself. It shows how serious you are about the blog you are running. Have a Contact page where users can fill a form and and submit to send an e-mail. Now this is what you call professionalism. It sounds great!!

7) Now whenever there is a very good comment of your blog/site, you can thank the commentor’s by sending an instant personalised e-mail. So this will leave a good impression on the reader and the visitors will be coming back to check out your blog. Smart eh?

Now, add a conclusion. Wait this is actually the conclusion of this article. There are a lot of other tricks and tips of blogging (excluding the above tips of blogging) which are available. But you can get a general idea of the above tips which I have posted and maybe incorporate a few of them and make your site/blog look good and ‘professional’.

Google announced the launch of Google Adsense for Games very recently. The Internet search giant has found a way into the world of online gaming.

Now this is a software which allows the advertisers, producers and the analysts to place ads without the actual content of online games. Just like the Yahoo! Games and Microsoft Games, Google Adsense for games has entered the market and so the viewers can play the online games and if you are a ‘Beta user of AdSense for games you can also place ads i.e displaying image ads, video ads, etc, without your online games to earn revenue. The content producers and the advertisers are charged on the basis of cost per click or cost per impression with the profit/revenue being split between Google and the game developers. Publishers who have many more game plays and atleast 80% of their traffic are eligible to participate in the beta version. Once AdSense is implemented, publishers will have control over when an ad is shown as frames after the game or a level change. While search related ad-revenue is increasing so is the number of online users playing internet games.

What’s more, companies like Konami, Zynga, Mochimedia are participating in this and in a way Google is getting in the game and is integrating the ads very well.

Well, well – a finger in every field is what [tag]Google[/tag] likes these days. You can’t help it but to be the best in everything can become a habit sometimes. What I want to see is some kick-ass action between the browsers, at least comically!

The last word wasn’t a joke, Google has really explained its motive behind the launch of the [tag]Google Chrome[/tag] the comics way. The comic simply explains that the Google Chrome is an open source project. Some features include the special tabs, [tag]omnibox[/tag] etc.

Well, this really makes the relationship between [tag]Mozilla[/tag] and Google a bit weird. The [tag]Firefox browser[/tag] is basically funded by Google. We will have to wait and see the aftermath of this relationship. Also, Mozilla won’t be happy with two of its engineers working for this open source project. Anyway, its a win-win situation for Google anyway.
