Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Note 7, the latest in its line of stylus-equipped smartphones (or Phablet) at New York. The Note 7, which surprisingly not called as expected Galaxy Note 6, blends many of the features from last year’s Note 5 with the design and waterproofing of this year’s stunning S7 Edge. Let’s have a look at all new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Features.

Well, this year Samsung’s approach is a little different, the Galaxy Note 7 is virtually indistinguishable from the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge we saw this year. It has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor for the US and other markets will have Samsung’s own Exynos processor, 4GB of RAM with Vulkan API just like S7 series. It has 64GB of internal storage, compared to the S7’s and the previous Note5’s 32GB which is expandable upto 256 GB via microSD card. Other Galaxy Note 7 Specs include IP68 water resistant ratings, which were not present in last year’s Note 5, 12-megapixel camera with f/1.7 lens and optical stabilization as the S7 series. Battery has been increased to 3,500 mAh over the Note 5’s 3,000 mAh battery with quick charging and quick wireless charging.

In terms of display it has gorgeous 5.7-inch, Super AMOLED quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel) resolution with curves on the left and right sides too (similar to edge displays). The dual-curved display is a first for the Note line, and Samsung claims that this allows the phone to be 2.2mm narrower than the Note 5, while still having the same display size. It weighs 169 grams and measures 153.5mmx73.9mmx7.9mm.

More Galaxy Note 7 Features

Beyond that, the rumors were true: The Note 7 comes with a Iris sensor. You can use it to unlock the phone or access content you’ve secured. Samsung says the iris scanner provides more security than a fingerprint scanner.

Iris scan feature is similar to the Windows Hello on Microsoft devices  but Microsoft offers their users with its Windows Hello login features seen on Microsoft’s Lumia 950, 950xl and a number of Windows 10 laptops, where Samsung says iris scan can eventually be able to use our eyes to log into accounts and authenticate Samsung Pay transactions. It can also be used to lock apps, videos, photos, notes, and other content in a secure folder..

Though the Note 7 ditches micro-USB in favour of USB Type-C, a first for Samsung devices. You can still plug in a regular pair of headphones when the big giants like Apple seems to have the standard headphone jack removed.

Galaxy Note 7 S Pen Improvements

And of course, the Note 7 come with Samsung’s S Pen Stylus following its Note line-up traditions. The S Pen has been upgraded this year with water resistance, a finer point and twice as fine pressure sensitivity.
